The Himalayan Tradition is an ancient, unbroken lineage of yoga, meditation, and spiritual philosophy originating from the masters of the Himalayan Mountains. It seamlessly weaves the practical system of Patanjali’s Yoga Sūtras, the spiritual philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, and the practices of Tantra into a comprehensive path to self-realization. Rather than adhering to rigid dogma, our lineage encourages us to 'love all, hate none — embrace all, exclude none'.
In the Himalayan Tradition, human birth is considered the greatest gift — and not realizing this gift, the greatest tragedy. Vāranasi | Absorb the intense spiritual energy of Vāranasi, home to more temples and shrines than any other place in the world. The city of Śiva, it is the optimal place to die and let your soul be ushered into its next incarnation. Visit sites cherished by our tradition, including the Shiva Temple and Lalitā Ghat, explore the Ganga Dvar Corridor, and experience the mesmerizing evening Ganga Ārti rituals over the sacred river.
Khajurāho | Marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage Khajurāho Temple Complex. These structural masterpieces beautifully intertwine architectural brilliance, cosmic philosophy, and deep spiritual symbolism chiseled into stone. What airport should I fly into?
You should book your international flight into Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi. From there, our domestic connections to Maheśvar will be coordinated by our team.
Are domestic flights within India included in the package?
Yes. All internal transport, including domestic flights and private air-conditioned coaches between Maheśvar, Vārãṇasī, and Khajurāho is fully covered.
Do I need a visa to travel to India?
Yes. International travelers require a valid passport and an e-Tourist Visa (30-day or 1-year) to enter India. We will send you a step-by-step visa guide 6 months before departure.
Accommodations
What are the accommodations like?
We stay in handpicked, high-vibration heritage hotels and luxury boutique properties. This includes the Himalayan Institute’s campus in Khajurāho.
How does roommate matching work for the 'Shared Room' option?
If you travel alone and select a shared room, we will pair you with a fellow participant of the same gender. We host a virtual meet-and-greet before the trip so you can get to know each other. You are welcome to request a specific roommate in advance.
Can I upgrade from a shared room to a private room later?
Upgrades depend entirely on availability. Because we need to book each hotel well in advance, we cannot guarantee that an upgrade will be available. We highly recommend booking the Private Room tier immediately if you require privacy.
Is it safe to drink the water and eat the food?
Your health is our top priority. We provide unlimited bottled, purified water throughout the journey. All meals are served at vetted, high-end hygienic restaurants and hotels specializing in clean, nutritious predominantly vegetarian cuisine. All meals served at the Himalayan Institute’s Khajurāho Campus are vegetarian.
Practice & Physical Fitness
Do I need advanced yoga or meditation experience?
No, though we strongly encourage a firm foundation in Vishoka Meditation. Pamela and Natalie will both make this available well in advance of our journey to India. In terms of āsana, we teach universal principles accessible to all levels. Practices will be tailored to meet you exactly where you are.
How physically demanding is this pilgrimage?
This trip requires moderate physical fitness. You should be comfortable walking 2 to 3 miles a day, navigating uneven cobblestones, climbing stairs at temples, and boarding boats.
What should I wear during the pilgrimage?
Modest, loose-fitting, and comfortable clothing is required. Shoulders and knees must be covered at all sacred sites. Loose cotton pants, long skirts, and tunics are ideal.
Payments, Cancellations & Safety
Can I change my payment plan details later?
Yes. While the final cutoff is fixed for 12 July 2027, you can pay your balance early or adjust your monthly billing date at any time.
What is the cancellation policy?
The initial $500 deposit is non-refundable as it locks in your room and internal flights. Cancellations made 6-months prior to departure receive a 50% refund of the total cost minus the $500 deposit.
Is travel insurance required?
It is not strictly required, but it is strongly encouraged. Comprehensive international travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, flight delays, and medical evacuation is strictly required to protect your investment.
