Together WE SHINE—The Power to Choose

As human beings we have far more autonomy than we give ourselves credit for. We've been given a mind endowed with a whole slew of innate virtues, perhaps the most significant of which is our power to choose. We make choices all day, every day. Some of these choices are made consciously, many are not. When we are not cognizant of the power we have to choose how we respond to our inner and outer realities, we forfeit that power and adopt the mentality of powerlessness. This is the root of victim mentality.
